Dior Homme Intense vs YSL La Nuit de L'Homme
Both are considered evening men's fragrances and both are often recommended for dates. The similarity ends with the purpose — Dior Homme Intense stands on iris and cocoa, La Nuit de l'Homme on cardamom and cedar.

Dior Homme Intense is in our range: lavender up top, iris with ambrette and pear in the heart, Virginia cedar and vetiver in the base. Iris is its first accord and gives it a powdery, creamy character that divides opinion more than any other note. La Nuit de l'Homme is more conventional: cardamom, cedar, lavender and coumarin, which make a dry, spicy composition without powder. The Dior is more distinctive, the YSL safer. A 5 ml decant of Dior Homme Intense costs €15. We don't carry La Nuit de l'Homme.
Do you carry La Nuit de l'Homme?
No. If you're after a dry, spicy direction from our range, Layton is closer than Dior Homme Intense, because it also builds on lavender and spices without powder.
Why do many people dislike Dior Homme Intense?
Because of the iris, which many people associate with make-up. It's not a flaw in the fragrance but a matter of habit — if you don't like powdery scents, repeated testing won't change your mind.
Which is better for a date?
Both are designed for it. Dior Homme Intense leaves a stronger impression; La Nuit de l'Homme is more universally liked.
Which is better for summer?
La Nuit de l'Homme, because it's dry and lighter. Dior Homme Intense is for autumn and winter.
Is Dior Homme Intense still relevant?
Yes. It came out in 2011 and remains the reference for the powdery-iris category; among the fragrances in our range, the closest in powdery texture is Diptyque Orphéon, even though it has no iris among its notes.
