10–16 hours according to community ratings. After a few hours it settles close to the skin, but it doesn't disappear.

What's the difference between the Extrait and the EDP?

The Extrait is denser and more almond, the EDP brighter and airier. Most ratings give the Extrait longer wear. Sources don't agree on which one projects further.

Is it for men or women?

Unisex. Both wear it; the difference is mostly how much sweetness you can take.

Who created it and what does 540 mean?

Francis Kurkdjian created it: the original for the 250th anniversary of the Baccarat crystal house, and the Extrait came out in 2017. The number in the name is 540 °C, the temperature at which crystal fuses with gold powder.

Why a decant first?

Because it can be completely different on skin than on a blotter. Decants are hand-filled from the original bottle, so you know exactly what you're getting. 2 ml is enough for a first evening, 5 ml for a real decision before you spend several hundred euros on a full bottle.
