Superz Aura vs Xerjoff Erba Pura
Erba Pura is one of the best-known names in fruity niche, while Aura is from a house many people first heard of last year. What's interesting about this pair is that the price doesn't reflect that: five millilitres of Aura cost €24, of Erba Pura €23.50. So for the same money you get either a well-known name or something nobody else on the street will be wearing — the only question is what's in the bottle.

Erba Pura is a citrus that ends in fruit and vanilla — bright, sweet and, according to community ratings, loud. Aura takes another path: blackberry and pear up top, then cardamom, saffron and pink pepper, with sandalwood, oud and praline underneath. So both have fruit, but Aura sets it on a spiced, slightly dark base, while Erba Pura stays in full sun. Since the decant prices are almost the same, the choice is simple: if you want a fragrance people will recognise, take Erba Pura; if you want something fruity but not obviously summery, Aura is more interesting. Aura is also an extrait in a 50 ml bottle, so at €2.60 per millilitre it's fairly priced for a house without a name.
Which is sweeter?
Both are sweet, but differently. Erba Pura is sweet in a fruity-citrus way, with vanilla and amber in the base. In Aura the sweetness comes from praline, which together with sandalwood and oud pulls it in a denser, less sunny direction.
Is it worth buying from a lesser-known house?
If you look at what's in the bottle, yes. Aura is an extrait at €2.60 per millilitre, below the average of our range. What you don't get with Superz is name recognition — if that doesn't matter to you, it's a saving, not a compromise.
Which is better for summer?
Erba Pura, because it's lighter and more citrusy. With cardamom, saffron and oud, Aura gains weight in the heat, so it's closer to spring and autumn.
Are both unisex?
Yes, both are listed as unisex in our database. Aura also has white florals and powdery among its accords, which tilts it slightly towards the feminine, but the difference isn't big.
